7th Annual African Heritage Month Celebrations 2026 Slated For Sept. 7

The Commission’s mission is to promote and preserve the cultural and artistic heritage of Africa and those of African descent in the United States. This annual-free festival celebrates the contributions of African community leaders and promotes the rich arts and culture of African immigrant communities across New York and Connecticut. It features traditional African music artists, speakers, and a variety of African cuisines, while emphasizing unity among people of all races, creeds, and ethnicities. The festival is a cornerstone effort of the Commission to preserve and promote the cultural and artistic heritage of Africa and its diaspora in the United States.
