Absa delivers double-digit profit growth
Absa Bank Botswana has delivered a resilient first-half performance, lifting profit after tax 18 percent to P376.7 million despite weak domestic demand, uncertainty in the diamond industry and a more challenging economic environment.
Total income rose 14 percent to P1.29 billion, underpinned by a sharp increase in non-interest income. Net trading and investment income surged 157 percent to P262.3 million, reaching P262.3 million, while net fee and commission income increased 7 percent to P284.2 million.
