ChipMango Raises $1.9 Million to Scale Semiconductor Engineering and Edge-AI Innovation

ChipMango,  an AI-native semiconductor technology company that develops engineering talent and delivers semiconductor design, verification, edge-AI, and intelligent-hardware solutions, today announced the close of a $1.9 million funding round led by Atlantica Ventures. Participants include DFS, Kaleo Ventures, Madica, Trilinear Technologies, Malta Ventures and other strategic investors.

The funding will expand ChipMango’s engineering and product-development capacity, support new commercial design engagements, scale its AI-native learning and workforce platform, and advance its edge-AI and intelligent-sensor technologies. The company will also grow operations across the United States, Africa and Europe.

AI is increasing demand for semiconductor engineers and intelligent hardware, while advanced chip-design capacity remains concentrated in relatively few regions. Deloitte estimates that the industry must add one million skilled workers by 2030, more than 100,000 each year, as annual semiconductor revenue approaches $1 trillion.

ChipMango addresses that constraint through a connected talent-to-technology model: develop engineers with industry-aligned curricula and professional tools, deploy them on commercial semiconductor programs, and convert that expertise into edge-AI, intelligent-hardware and semiconductor-IP innovation.

“The next era of AI will not be defined by software alone. It will depend on who can design the chips, systems and intelligent hardware that power it. ChipMango is expanding access to those capabilities so more regions can help build the technologies shaping the future.”

COMMERCIAL ENGINEERING IN ACTION

ChipMango is already demonstrating its model through an engagement with Trilinear Technologies, a developer of high-performance DisplayPort and multimedia IP for SoCs, FPGAs and ASICs. ChipMango engineers support verification processes that help Trilinear expand capacity for consumer, automotive and industrial applications.

Carl Ruggiero, CEO of Trilinear Technologies, notes that “verification quality is critical to the IP we deliver. ChipMango helps us scale verification with a team focused on precision and quality, supporting the reliable, forward-ready DisplayPort IP our customers depend on.”

AN INDUSTRY-ALIGNED TALENT PIPELINE

Built around real-world engineering workflows, ChipMango’s platform provides browser-based access to professional semiconductor design environments, intelligent learner support, and industry-standard electronic design automation (EDA) tools. As a recent addition to the Arm® Approved Training Partner program, ChipMango is licensed to deliver official Arm training, helping learners build knowledge and practical skills in the Arm technologies that can be applied in real-world engineering environments. The company also works closely with leading technology partners, including Synopsys, and academic institutions such as Ohlone College in California and the Carl Emily Fuchs Institute for Microelectronics (CEFIM) at the University of Pretoria in South Africa to help bridge the gap between academic learning and commercial engineering practice.

“Building the skills needed to support the future of computing is critical to the continued growth of the semiconductor industry. We are pleased to welcome ChipMango as an Arm Approved Training Partner. Together, we’ll expand access to high-quality, industry-aligned training, helping engineers around the world build knowledge and practical skills in Arm technologies and apply them to real-world products and solutions.”

INVESTOR BACKING AND GLOBAL EXPANSION

Atlantica Ventures invests in the next generation of African entrepreneurs, and chose to support ChipMango based on its proven semiconductor design and expansion expertise.

“The semiconductor industry’s binding constraint is no longer capital, it is people. ChipMango converts Africa’s deep engineering talent into world-class chip-design capability, already proven through production-grade work for global customers. We believe it can become foundational infrastructure for the next generation of smart devices and semiconductor IP.”

Anikó Szigetvári, Founding Partner, Atlantica Ventures

ChipMango plans to establish a European Design Center in Malta with Malta Ventures and advance ecosystem-building initiatives in Kigali, Rwanda focused on semiconductor capability, workforce development and AI infrastructure.

“This funding gives ChipMango the foundation for its next phase of growth. We will expand engineering capability, deepen industry and academic partnerships, and create opportunities for exceptional engineers to contribute to cutting edge semiconductor and AI programs while delivering measurable value for customers.”
