By Zoila Palma: EXPORTBelize, a unit of BELTRAIDE, launched its Academia Outreach initiative on August 27, engaging more than 300 students and teachers from the Business Departments of Corozal Junior College (CJC) and Centro Escolar Mexico Junior College (CEMJC).
The sessions were facilitated by Export Business Advisors Zain Hernandez and Rygel Rowley, who led presentations, interactive activities and discussions focused on entrepreneurship, business development and the support services available through EXPORTBelize and BELTRAIDE.
Students also heard firsthand from Corozal District entrepreneurs Francis Holmes of Change Rhythm and Asli Mohamed of Mal-Mal, who shared their experiences, including the inspiration behind their businesses, challenges they encountered and lessons learned along their entrepreneurial journeys.
Students were also given an opportunity to present their own business ideas and receive feedback from the Business Advisors.
Through the Academia Outreach initiative, EXPORTBelize aims to strengthen its connection with Belize’s future entrepreneurs by providing students with knowledge, mentorship, exposure and access to resources to help transform business ideas into viable enterprises.
