By Zoila Palma: Recently, Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) participated in the ongoing development and refinement of Belize’s Climate Change and Carbon Market Policy, in Belmopan.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders to review and validate the draft policy and its six annexes.
TIDE contributed to important discussions on blue carbon, environmental safeguards, sustainable development, and benefit-sharing, helping to keep conservation, communities, and biodiversity at the forefront of Belize’s evolving climate and carbon market framework.
TIDE says that it remains committed to sharing its conservation and community-based experience to support the development of effective and inclusive climate solutions in Belize.
“Through continued collaboration, we support solutions that strengthen climate resilience, safeguard Belize’s natural resources, and deliver meaningful benefits for communities and biodiversity,” TIDE expressed.
