A DARK cloud hung over Easter Sunday after two people died in a horrific road traffic accident along Chivhu-Gutu road.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on April 5, 2026 at the 11 km peg along Chivhu‑Gutu road,” he said.
“A motorist who was driving a Toyota Hilux, carrying five passengers and heading towards Chivhu, lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road to the right. It overturned several times, before landing on its wheels.
“As a result of the crash, two people died on the spot while four others were injured. The bodies of the victims were taken to Chivhu General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.”
