WASP (Above Average) & DJ Jahmar attack with ‘Remember’

Twelve Tribes Entertainment continues to build momentum for its Book of Micah Riddim with Remember, the new collaboration between Jamaican dancehall artist WASP (Above Average) and producer DJ Jahmar.

Remember marks the latest chapter in the Book of Micah Riddim, which Twelve Tribes Entertainment and DJ Jahmar launched in August 2026 with Edley Shine’s Broken Dolly. The new release pairs WASP’s distinctive delivery with DJ Jahmar’s production as the series continues to unfold one entry at a time.

WASP injects storytelling style into Remember.

“When I got the riddim, I heard a particular sound in it, and that specific sound inspired the song ‘Remember,’” WASP explains. “What I brought to the riddim was my storytelling style. I think that is one of my strong points—being able to tell a vivid story.”

WASP and DJ Jahmar have worked together for approximately five years. Their connection began while WASP was promoting a collaboration with Vybz Kartel and reaching out to DJs for support.

“The connection between me and DJ Jahmar came about when I had a collaboration with Vybz Kartel that I was promoting at the time,” WASP says. “I reached out to every disc jockey possible, and Jahmar was one of them. I sent the song to him, he requested a dub, and from that day we maintained the connection.”

Born Marvin Clarke, WASP has been a fixture in Jamaican dancehall for close to three decades. He began his career in 1994 after winning a talent contest while still in high school. By the mid-1990s, he was performing alongside established deejays and recording early combinations, including a collaboration with Spragga Benz.

WASP later co-founded Park to Park Entertainment with Zooma and released his debut mixtape, The Buzz, through Throwback Entertainment in 2007. The project gained attention across Jamaica and South Florida. His profile grew through his work with Black Chiney Productions and producer Don Corleone, while songs including Best a Dem with Spragga Benz, Buss de Place, Step to Dem, Unfair Officer, and Cry Fi Dem achieved multiple No. 1 runs on HYPE TV’s VTX Countdown. His Above Average mixtape became such a defining project that it now serves as his brand, with the artist recording today as WASP (Above Average).
