Chicago Bulls Great and Broadcaster Stacey King Dies at 59

(AURN News) — Former Chicago Bulls player and longtime broadcaster Stacey King has died at 59, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The cause of death has not been released.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, King was pronounced dead Sunday morning in River Forest, Illinois, where he lived. The medical examiner’s office said a head autopsy is expected.

King was part of the Bulls’ first three NBA championship teams from 1991 to 1993 after being selected sixth overall in the 1989 NBA Draft.

He also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks during his eight-season NBA career.

After his playing career, King became a beloved Bulls broadcaster known for his humor, energy, signature calls and deep connection with fans.

The Chicago Bulls plan to honor King throughout next season. Rest in peace, Stacey King.
