THE NEW BLACK FILM COLLECTIVE’S TNB XPO 2026 MOVES TO APRIL
Monday 23rd March 2026: The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) has announced that its flagship event, TNB XPO 2026, has been rescheduled to 17-19 April 2026, moving from its original March dates due to the threat of London Underground strike action. The rescheduled XPO will be held in a new venue - BLOC cinema in East London.
Now entering its fifth year, TNB XPO has become one of the UK’s leading industry symposiums for Black creatives, continuing its mission to drive systemic change, strengthen the pipeline for Black talent, and celebrate excellence across film, television, and gaming.
Backed by key partners including Film London, Warner Bros., Film and TV Charity, and Channel 4, the event remains free and open to all, ensuring vital access for Black creatives to connect, showcase their work, and engage directly with industry decision-makers.
TNB XPO’s original launch evening event on Monday at Channel 4 remains unaffected. The event will feature a screening of Black Is Beautiful: Kwame Brathwaite Story, followed by a Q&A with director Yemi Bamiro. The evening will also outline the newly rescheduled dates and proposed programme activity.

Audiences are encouraged to sign up to TNBFC’s newsletter for programme updates and ticket release information.
Priscilla Igwe, Founder and CEO of The New Black Film Collective, said: “It is with deep regret that we have postponed TNB XPO due to the anticipated tube strike action, which would have directly impacted the live events programme. We made the decision ahead of confirmation, to avoid the risk of significant disruption to attendance. We have put significant work into curating an inspiring and ambitious programme, and accessibility remains at the heart of everything we do, including ensuring people are able to get to us. It is vital that we continue our mission to create a space where commissioners, studios, creatives and industry leaders can connect with Black talent, helping to shape the future of film, television and gaming. We look forward to welcoming audiences in April with a streamlined but powerful line-up of speakers, panels, keynotes, screenings and networking opportunities.”
Founded in 2013 following a Film London leadership initiative, The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) exists to cultivate a vibrant Black ecosystem across the UK screen industries - connecting every stage of the creative pipeline from talent to exhibition. Through its flagship initiatives PictureEast Film Festival and TNB XPO, alongside strategic partnerships with leading industry organisations TNBFC continues to champion Black-led production, distribution, and preservation of Black film and television. More than a network, TNBFC is a movement - building visibility, resilience, and opportunity for Black creatives, while setting new standards for how inclusion and industry transformation can truly work hand in hand.
