By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 24-year-old San Pedro resident has been charged with drug trafficking after police say they found almost a kilogram of suspected crystal methamphetamine in his backpack.
Police formally arrested and charged Marcos Tun of San Pedro Town with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another.
According to police, Special Branch and GI3 personnel conducted an anti-drug operation on August 18 during which Tun was searched.
Officers reportedly found a manila envelope inside his backpack containing suspected crystal methamphetamine.
The substance was weighed in Tun’s presence and amounted to 932 grams, police said.
Tun was subsequently formally arrested and charged.
