The international delegation includes Brigadier Carlos A. R. Lovell, Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force; Brigadier General Miguel Maldonado Castro, Director of Human Resources for the Honduran Army; Brigadier Mahatma Williams, Acting Chief of Defence Staff of the Jamaica Defence Force; and Colonel Donald Henley, Defence Attaché of Canada in Mexico.
The official programme began Friday night with a Welcome Cocktail Reception at Grand Resort and Residences in Belize City, bringing together the visiting military representatives and Belizean dignitaries.
Today, Saturday, the programme continues with the JWIC Graduation Ceremony.
On Sunday, the international guests are expected to participate in a Cultural and Heritage Excursion to Caye Caulker, giving them an opportunity to experience Belizean culture and heritage.
The delegation is also expected to attend the Independence Eve Flag Raising Ceremony on Sunday night as Belize prepares to officially mark 45 years of Independence.
The activities will conclude on Monday, September 21, with Belize’s Independence Day celebrations and a parade in Belmopan.
The Belize Defence Force says the visit reflects the friendship and partnership shared between Belize and its international defence counterparts.
