Saint Lucia, Kalinago split tapeball fixtures

Day two of the bilateral tapeball cricket series between Saint Lucia and the Kalinago Nationals of Dominica on Tuesday saw the visiting veterans taking a 2-0 series lead, whilst the senior fixture fell to the Dominicans for the second consecutive game.

In the first match at the Kalinago Playing Field on Dominica’s east coast, the Saint Lucia Veterans beat the Kalinago Veterans by seven wickets.

The hosts batted first and scored 93 for 7 in 12 overs. Abbisha Etienne led with 25 runs, Kenny Valmont made 23, and Mario Lucien added 15. Marius Giddings, who was named player of the match, took three wickets in the middle overs. Glen Eurysthee took two wickets, and Anthony Adlein and Nick Abraham each took one.

Saint Lucia chased down the target in 9.5 overs, finishing at 94 for 3. Alvin Lafieulle led the way with 65 runs, despite a three-wicket effort from Kalinago’s Wayne Auguste.

In the national match, the Kalinago Nationals beat Saint Lucia by eight wickets. Saint Lucia batted first and scored 126 for 6 in 15 overs. Imbert Lorde led with 42 runs, while Orey Changoo added 21 and Garette Alphonse made 19. Federick Paris led the Kalinago bowlers with two wickets, and Jason Paris, Neo Davis, and Dhal Wahland each took one.

Kalinago erased the target in 12 overs, reaching 130-2. Player of the match Neo Davis scored 59, pairing with Riyel Paris (49) to construct the decisive partnership.
