Saint Lucian extradited to Martinique on armed robbery convictions

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force said that Jahvis Marlon Alfred, 26, from Wiltons Yard in Castries, was extradited to Martinique on Thursday, September 17, after surrendering to French authorities through established legal cooperation.

Alfred was wanted in Martinique for several charges, including armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and firearm offences. In November 2021, the Criminal Court of Martinique sentenced him to 15 years in prison. 

Authorities arrested him in Saint Lucia on February 7, 2026, and held him at Bordelais Correctional Facility on a provisional warrant until his extradition.

Police officials said this case shows how international law enforcement works, and that crossing borders does not stop legal proceedings.

“To those contemplating criminal activity: Think carefully about the consequences of your actions. The reach of the law does not end at the border,” the RSLPF cautioned in its statement.

The force reiterated its commitment to working with regional and international partners to support investigations, facilitate judicial proceedings and promote public safety.
