Open the terrace door and the pool is already there, a few feet from the bed, surrounded by tropical gardens or facing a beach, a volcano or a pair of volcanic peaks.

You leave your book on the lounger. You order lunch to the room. You swim before dinner. There is no hunt for an empty chair and no reason to claim a spot beside the main pool.

The private plunge pool has become one of the most desirable features in Caribbean hotels, particularly at romantic resorts where the room itself can occupy a large part of your vacation.
