Thieves reportedly stole an air-conditioning unit and a television during a break-in at the AIDS Secretariat on Long Street, sometime between 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th and 7 a.m. on Monday, July 27th.
Sources said the perpetrators allegedly also stole two pairs of shoes, a jacket, a quantity of sanitary products, two tins of coffee and a quantity of eggs.
According to reports, the intruders removed six panes of louvre glass from a western window and then attempted to pry open the burglar bars with a mechanical implement but were unsuccessful.
However, they gained entry into the building and allegedly forced open the door to the accountant’s office before searching the premises and removing the items.
Searches in the area for the stolen property proved unsuccessful. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
