By Zoila Palma: An 80-year-old pastor was reportedly robbed at gunpoint at his home in Biscayne Village during the early hours of Saturday, with the assailants escaping with two vehicles and other valuables.
According to police, the pastor reported the incident to Sandhill Police around 7:50 a.m.
He told authorities that sometime between 2:00 and 3:00 a.m., he was awakened by loud banging at his front door. Someone reportedly shouted, “Open the door, it’s the Police,” before four masked men dressed in dark clothing forced their way into the home through the back door.
The pastor told police that two of the men were armed with firearms and that one of them struck him on the right side of his head, causing pain and bleeding.
The men then reportedly demanded the keys to his vehicles, which were taken from the TV stand inside the home.
The thieves then escaped with the keys and stole a silver 2024 Toyota Hilux and a silver 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser.
They also reportedly took two cellphones and a television.
Anyone with information is urged to call the nearest police station.
