Nedbank has appointed Nikos Angelopoulos as its new Group Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective 1 September 2026, as the bank accelerates its digital transformation and technology strategy.
Angelopoulos brings more than three decades of international technology leadership experience spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. His expertise covers technology strategy, digital transformation, cloud computing, data management, and artificial intelligence.
Before joining Nedbank, he served as Group Chief Information Officer at MTN Group , where he was responsible for technology strategy, governance, and investment across the telecommunications operator’s 16 markets.
In his new role, Angelopoulos will lead Nedbank’s technology agenda as the bank continues to strengthen the use of digital technologies, data, AI, and innovation to enhance customer experience and improve operational performance.
The appointment reflects Nedbank’s continued focus on building a future-ready organization by leveraging advanced technologies to drive sustainable growth and deliver long-term value for its customers, employees, and stakeholders.
