Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vodacom Tanzania to strengthen the country’s investment environment through digital connectivity and technology solutions.
Speaking at the signing, TISEZA Director General Gilead Teri said the partnership will combine the authority’s mandate to promote, coordinate and facilitate investment with Vodacom Tanzania’s expertise in digital communications and technology solutions for businesses and institutions.
Teri said stronger collaboration between the government and private sector will be critical to achieving the objectives of Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050, particularly the creation of a competitive economy driven by innovation, world-class digital infrastructure and efficient services.
Vodacom Business Director Nguvu Kamando described the agreement as mutually beneficial, with the two organisations expected to collaborate on business and investment opportunities, digital infrastructure and investment promotion activities.
The partnership is also expected to expand access to digital services for investors while supporting Tanzania’s efforts to create a more investor-friendly business environment.
Kamando commended TISEZA for its continued efforts to improve investment conditions in the country, noting that Vodacom has benefited from the investment environment over its 26 years of operations in Tanzania.
