Maroons scored late to share spoils with SC Villa in the first leg of the FUFA Super 8 encounter played on Saturday at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
SC Villa had taken an early lead through Aslam Ssemakula but substitute Marvin Oshaba got onto the scoresheet in stoppage time to force a 1-1 draw.
Ssemakula got the Jogoos into the lead in the 14th minute with Frank Ssebufu teeing him up.
However, with the game destined for an end, a clever pass from Ronald Orombi was chest controlled by Oshaba who chose his spot and fired a ferocious strike into the roof of the net beyond goalkeeper David Lukwago.
The result means the two teams will face off in the return leg on Thursday next week on even terms with the winner on aggregate progressing to the semifinals.
It should be noted that the FUFA Super 8 is a preparatory tournament featuring eight best ranked teams from the previous league campaign.
Action continues on Sunday with Kitara facing Entebbe UPPC while NEC will take on Police FC.
