Hitbound – Showcase Vol. 1: Instrumental Reggae & Dub From Spain

There’s something about a good instrumental reggae album that never gets old, especially when a lively horn section leads the way. That’s the territory Hitbound explores on Showcase Vol. 1, released October 1, 2026. The Spanish collective, formed in 2022, brings together musicians from 12 Tribu, Tacumah, and Agoteak, with roots in Donostia, Azpeitia, and Azkoitia. Their approach combines original instrumentals with carefully chosen covers of Jamaican classics, drawing on the sounds that made reggae such a rich musical tradition.

Pressed in a strictly limited run of 200 copies, the eight-track vinyl LP follows the classic showcase tradition, with extended cuts and dub workouts taking the music beyond the original versions. Among the selections are Ghetto Rock, the group’s first single, and its accompanying dub. Recorded at studios in the Basque Country and Cantabria, the album gives Hitbound plenty of space to stretch out and explore different sides of their sound.

The finishing touches come from two familiar names in the Spanish reggae scene. David González mixed the album at Truth Town Studio, while Roberto Sánchez handled the mastering at A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio.
