2027 Polls: Olumide Jones Seeks Support for PDP Candidates, Welcomes New Members

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Akintunde Jones, has intensified his grassroots campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections by rallying support for the party’s candidates and receiving members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who defected to the PDP.

The campaign event, held at Oke Aro Ibaragun in Ward 7 of Ifo Constituency II, saw Jones mobilising support for the PDP candidate for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Ifo Constituency II, Hon. Omotunde Ayoade, and the party’s Ogun Central Senatorial candidate, Dr. (Prof.) Iyabo Obasanjo.

The gathering also featured the formal reception of APC members who announced their defection to the PDP, saying they were joining the opposition party in pursuit of better leadership and improved governance.

The event attracted prominent PDP leaders from the national, state, local government, ward and polling unit levels, who welcomed the new members and assured them of equal opportunities within the party.

While addressing party faithful, Hon. Jones called for unity and commitment among members, stressing the need for collective efforts to secure victory for all PDP candidates in the 2027 general elections.

He urged supporters to remain focused on grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement, noting that a united party would be better positioned to deliver the desired political change in Ogun State and Nigeria.
