Braamfontein’s Jazz Legacy Continues as Maleh Takes the Stage at Jozi Gold

Johannesburg’s rich jazz heritage continues to find new life in Braamfontein as Jazz at Jozi Gold welcomes award-winning singer-songwriter Maleh on Saturday, 1 August. Every Saturday, Jozi Gold Brewing Company celebrates South Africa’s extraordinary musical talent with intimate jazz performances. Few artists are better suited to that story than Maleh.

Born in Lesotho, Maleh is one of Southern Africa’s most distinctive Afro-Soul voices. Rising to prominence as a member of the award-winning group Kaya, she has since established herself as one of the region’s most respected singer-songwriters, celebrated for seamlessly blending Basotho musical traditions, jazz, Afro-soul and contemporary African music into a sound that is both deeply rooted in heritage and universally resonant.

Renowned as one of Africa’s most captivating live vocalists, Maleh has built a reputation for performances that go beyond entertainment. Her concerts are guided by authenticity, spirituality and emotional connection, creating shared experiences that leave audiences uplifted, inspired and deeply connected.

Her latest album, Dithapelo (“Prayers”), marks the most significant creative chapter of her career. Inspired by a deeply personal journey of reflection, healing and spiritual renewal, the Afro-gospel-influenced project has resonated powerfully with audiences, surpassing 600,000 streams by mid-2026. More than an album, Dithapelo has evolved into an emotionally moving live experience, with songs exploring themes of faith, identity, resilience and restoration.
