DAR ES SALAAM: MORE than eight countries have confirmed participation in the 10th Power & Energy Tanzania 2026 and 10th Solar Expo Tanzania 2026, scheduled for October 7-9 in Dar es Salaam.

The exhibitions are expected to create opportunities for investment, technology transfer and business partnerships, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, investors, utilities and other industry stakeholders to showcase products, identify markets and build commercial links across Tanzania’s growing power, energy and solar sectors.

Expogroup Director Benney Mosha said the event will be graced by Deputy Minister for Energy, Salome Makamba, with the opening ceremony expected to attract government officials, ambassadors, financiers and senior representatives from utilities and regulatory institutions.

Participating countries include China, India, Tanzania, Kenya, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, alongside companies and industry representatives from other parts of Asia, Africa and Europe.

Mr Mosha said the international participation reflects the growing commercial opportunities in Tanzania’s energy market and the wider East African region.

The exhibitions have also received support from key trade and energy institutions, including the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), Tanzania Energy Association (TEA), National Commercial Directory (NCD), and Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA).

“Their participation reflects the growing importance of investment, innovation and modernisation in East Africa’s energy infrastructure,” Mr Mosha said.

The 2026 editions are expected to feature more than 160 exhibitors from over 25 countries, showcasing equipment, technologies and solutions covering electricity generation, transmission, solar power and renewable energy.

Among the participating companies are Sanney Power, Adaptive Engineering P Ltd, Vijay Transmission Private Limited, Shandong Tailai Electric Co Ltd, Opera Energy Pvt Ltd, Beijing UH Exhibition Service Co Ltd, Guangdong Lvtopsun New Energy Co Ltd, Collective Energy Africa, Novasys Greenergy Limited and Symphony Distributors Limited.

Beyond product displays, organisers expect the exhibitions to generate commercial opportunities by connecting suppliers with utility companies, independent power producers, engineering, procurement and construction contractors, solar installers, system integrators and institutional buyers.

Mr Mosha said the diversity of participants would make the exhibitions an important meeting point for buyers and sellers seeking new technologies, investment opportunities and partnerships.

Tanzania’s expanding electricity market, ongoing grid development and rural electrification programmes are creating demand for new generation and transmission capacity, while private investment in solar and off-grid systems is opening additional opportunities.

For participating businesses, the exhibitions therefore offer more than a showcase of technology. They provide a platform to access customers, identify investment opportunities and position companies within Tanzania’s expanding power and renewable-energy value chains.
