JPEGMAFIA continues to push his creative evolution with “babygirl,” an adrenaline-fueled fusion of rap, rock, and punk. As a singular visionary who writes, produces and mixes his own material, JPEGMAFIA uses the track to channel the chaos of modern culture and social tension while commanding his place at the forefront of the experimental space.
The track serves as the lead single from the pioneering producer’s upcoming album EXPERIMENTAL RAP, arriving May 21 – Pre-Save Album. The era-defining magnum opus is a masterclass in left-field innovation, blending rap, punk, rock, industrial and gospel music with his signature “no-rules” production and sharp lyricism. Challenging the boundaries of the experimental genre, this record acts as both a display of power and a gauntlet thrown to the industry, proving once again that JPEGMAFIA is one of modern rap’s most fearless and consistent innovators.
Alongside the new single, JPEGMAFIA has announced The Experimental Rap Tour, a 20-date North American run with support from redveil and matt proxy kicking off September 22 in Spokane, WA. Fans can expect his signature high-energy and intimately engaging live performances that have come to define his stage presence and captivate audiences at festivals including Coachella, Rolling Loud, Primavera Sound, Governors Ball and Lollapalooza. Before his North American run, he’ll head overseas this summer for a string of European festival dates, including Lowlands (Netherlands), Pukkelpop (Belgium), All Points East (UK) and Electric Picnic (Ireland).
The release of EXPERIMENTAL RAP follows a prolific run of critically celebrated and culture shifting work. Earlier this year, he surprised audiences by contributing to the BTS track “FYA” from their chart-topping album ARIRANG. He also produced the acclaimed single “Fake Jeezy” featuring Maxo Kream and Denzel Curry. These releases follow his 2025 Director’s Cut edition of the widely heralded album I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU, which landed on Best-of-the-Year lists from NPR Music, TIME and The Needle Drop. Additionally, his 2023 collaboration with Danny Brown, SCARING THE HOES, earned spots on Best-of-the-Year lists from Rolling Stone, The FADER and The Guardian.
In 2025, JPEGMAFIA was the support act on Linkin Park’s global stadium tour “From Zero.” The high-profile appearance is part of a decade-long history of touring alongside an eclectic range of artists including Turnstile, Danny Brown, $uicideboy$ and Vince Staples. His music collaborations are just as diverse including Gorillaz, Tinashe, Flume and Ye reflecting the wide-reaching influence of his creative vision.
