By Zoila Palma: Belizean mixed martial artist Keon Mossiah, who proudly hails from Santa Elena, Cayo, has made history becoming the first Belizean to win a gold medal at the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Pan American Championships.
Mossiah secured the historic victory at the 2026 IMMAF Pan American Championships in Monterrey, Mexico, where he represented Belize against talented fighters from across the Americas.
His gold medal marks a major milestone for Belizean amateur mixed martial arts and adds to the country’s growing success at international IMMAF competitions.
Mossiah’s achievement also highlights the continued development of mixed martial arts in Belize and the work of the Belize Mixed Martial Arts Federation, which has been creating opportunities for local athletes to compete at the international level.
