“The Most Important Artist Is Myself”: Tyson Sybateli Opens Up About Moving Away From Features. South African rapper, producer and creative powerhouse Tyson Sybateli has opened up about the thinking behind the growing number of solo records in his recent catalogue, revealing that the change is part of a bigger creative vision.

The artist responded to a fan’s question on X after Insight Thobe asked what inspired him to move away from the collaboration-heavy approach that defined some of his earlier projects.

In a thoughtful response, Sybateli explained that producing much of his own music sometimes causes him to focus more on curating songs than on highlighting himself as the artist.

“I produce alot of my songs so much the curator in me shines the most that I forget the most important piece or artist to use is myself so I leaned into that more. So that I can do a no feature effort next.”
