TWO passengers aboard an Isuzu KB300 truck that veered off the road died after crushing onto the tarmac having been thrown out of the loading box.
The fatal accident occurred along the Ngundu-Tanganda road Thursday.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on February 12, 2026, at the 213 km peg along Ngundu–Tanganda Road,” said Nyathi.
“A motorist driving an Isuzu KB300 single cab, with four passengers on board and travelling towards Tanganda, allegedly lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road.
“As a result, two passengers who were in the vehicle loading box were thrown onto the tarmac. The two victims sustained severe head injuries and were rushed to St Peter’s Hospital, where they were pronounced dead upon admission.”
Meanwhile, police in Chitungwiza are investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred along Rufaro road, near Shingayi Primary School, on February 11, 2026.
An unknown motorist struck an 82-year-old woman and sped off. The victim sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Chitungwiza Hospital for medical treatment.
