Bukedea Comprehensive School-South is through to the final of the 2026 USSSA U20 Boys Football Championship after overcoming Kyadondo SS in the semifinal on Monday.
In the game played at Lira Town College, a solitary strike from winger Patrick Senkusu was enough to guide Bukedea Comprehensive School to their first ever final.
The lone goal came in the 55th minute with Senkusu scoring from close range when Denis Ssewagudde laid a ground cross and the former was well stationed at the far post to tap into an empty net.
Despite efforts from Kyadondo SS to stage a comeback in the closing stages of the game, Bukedea defended resiliently to see out the game.
For the last two years, Bukedea’s journey has been agonizingly stopping at the semifinals.
Bukedea Comprehensive School will now face rivals Amus College School in the final on Tuesday at Lira Town College playground. The latter defeated St. Mary’s Boarding School 4-1 on penalties after normal time had ended goalless.
