By Zoila Palma: On July 30, 2026, BELTRAIDE met with the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) to explore opportunities for collaboration in support of Belize’s tourism industry and tourism-related businesses.
The meeting was led by BTIA President, Efren Perez, and Executive Director, Lynette Canto.
BELTRAIDE was represented by Executive Director, Ishmael Quiroz, Deputy Executive Director, Monique Usher, Jorge Gentle, Manager of SBDCBelize, and Sarita Bejerano, Manager of Belize Training & Employment Centre (BTEC).
Discussions included hospitality training, business development support, digital marketing, the wedding and destination tourism market, destination planning initiatives (including the World Bank Tourism Corridor Project), and the creation of a referral system to connect BTIA members with BELTRAIDE’s services.
BELTRAIDE also highlighted support available through BTEC, SBDCBelize, BelizeINVEST, and EXPORTBelize—offering training, advisory services, investment facilitation, export development, and market access.
