Ex common-law husband punches Salvapan woman; took her documents

By Breaking Belize News Staff:  A 31-year-old woman from the Salvapan area of Belmopan has reported an alleged domestic dispute involving her former common-law partner, whom she accused of assaulting her and later taking a bag containing important personal documents from her home.

The woman told police that on Saturday, August 22, between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., the man went to her home and became involved in an argument with her. She said she told him that he had already moved out and that she no longer wanted to continue their relationship. She alleged that the man then moved aggressively toward her son, prompting her to intervene.

According to her report, the man attempted to punch her in the face, but she raised her hands to block the blow, causing it to strike her left wrist. She further alleged that he kicked her on the left foot above the ankle before leaving the residence.

The woman reported that the man later returned and, after taking a shower, allegedly punched her in the face, striking her left ear and the center of her nose. She also told police that he later returned and took a black bag belonging to her containing important doc
