The National Workers Union (NWU) has announced the successful conclusion of industrial negotiations with the Management of Ferrands Food Products Ltd., following a period of constructive consultation and the exchange of ideas.

As a result of the agreement, clerical, technical, and ancillary workers will benefit from a new industrial relations package. According to the President General, Tyrone G Maynard, the agreement provides for a nine per cent general wage increase over a three-year period, distributed as follows: four per cent in the first year, three per cent in the second year, and two per cent in the third year, along with five months’ back pay.

The parties have also agreed to maintain existing fringe benefits in line with current acceptable standardised norms with efforts being made to ensure the timely implementation of the new provisions.

Arrangements are currently being finalised with the Department of Labour for the formal signing of the industrial agreement in the presence of the Labour Commissioner.

Ferrands Food Products Ltd. and the National Workers Union share an industrial relations partnership that has spanned over ten years.
