When life forced her to redefine beauty on her own terms, she didn’t hide—she built a movement. After publicly embracing her alopecia journey and courageously tossing her wig into the air in the heart of Times Square, this inspiring entrepreneur transformed personal adversity into a powerful platform for healing, confidence, and community. Through Bald Bozz Beauty, groundbreaking initiatives like the B3Elegance All-Bald Fashion Show, and spaces that celebrate authenticity over perfection, she’s helping women everywhere discover that true beauty isn’t found in what they’ve lost, but in the strength they gain by fully embracing who they are.
Throughout your journey, what mindset shifts helped you transform setbacks into new beginnings?
Throughout my journey, the mindset shifts that helped me transform setbacks into new beginnings were rooted in authenticity, resilience, and adaptability.
The path has not always been easy. In my pursuit of impacting the community and elevating my brand, I’ve faced challenges, disappointments, and moments when obstacles were intentionally placed in my way. However, I made a conscious decision not to allow those setbacks to define my future.
One of the most powerful shifts was understanding that authenticity is a strength, not a weakness. Remaining true to my values, even during difficult seasons, became my compass. Instead of focusing on what was working against me, I focused on who I was becoming through the experience.
Another important mindset shift was learning to see challenges as opportunities for growth rather than signs to quit. Every setback taught me something valuable, refined my approach, and strengthened my resolve. I stopped viewing obstacles as roadblocks and started seeing them as redirections toward something greater.
I also embraced the power of adaptability. Sometimes the vision remains the same, but the route to get there must change. Being open to pivoting and changing direction allowed me to protect my peace while continuing to serve and impact the community. I learned that flexibility is not failure—it is wisdom.
Most importantly, I shifted from simply trying to bounce back to intentionally bouncing forward. Every challenge became an opportunity to grow stronger, lead with greater purpose, and deepen my commitment to the work I was called to do. Through resilience, authenticity, and a willingness to evolve, I discovered that new beginnings are often hidden inside our greatest setbacks.

After publicly embracing your alopecia journey and founding Bald Bozz Beauty, what message do you hope women take away about beauty, confidence, and self-acceptance from your personal story?
After publicly embracing my alopecia journey and founding Bald Bozz Beauty, the message I hope women take away is that beauty is not defined by hair, appearance, or society’s standards—it begins with self-acceptance, confidence, and the courage to embrace who you truly are.
When I was diagnosed with alopecia, making the decision to shave my head was one of the most difficult and frightening moments of my life. I worried about how my family, friends, community, and even my workplace would perceive me. In that vulnerable moment, I turned to my children for their thoughts, and their overwhelming support, combined with the unwavering encouragement of my husband, gave me the strength to move forward.
One of the most defining moments of my journey was standing in Times Square and throwing my wig into the air. It was more than a symbolic gesture—it was an act of freedom. In that moment, I chose to release fear, embrace authenticity, and step fully into who I was created to be. The positive response I received reinforced a powerful lesson: when we show up as our authentic selves, we give others permission to do the same.
My journey hasn’t been without challenges. There are still days when I ask, “Why me?” But those moments no longer define me. Instead, embracing my baldness has given freedom in my thoughts, freedom in my movements, and freedom to live unapologetically.
Through Bald Bozz Beauty, I want women to understand that confidence is not something you find after you become comfortable with yourself; confidence is built when you choose to accept yourself exactly as you are. Self-acceptance is not surrender—it’s empowerment. It is recognizing your worth beyond what the world sees on the surface.
Most importantly, I want women facing alopecia or any life challenge to know that they are not alone. There is a community waiting to support them. Find your tribe, lean on them, and allow yourself grace during the journey. Instead of focusing on “What if?” focus on “So now, how can I?” That simple shift can transform fear into purpose and uncertainty into strength.
Your beauty is not diminished by what you’ve lost. It is revealed by the courage you have to embrace yourself fully and move forward with confidence.
You’ve built platforms that elevate others while navigating your own evolution. How do you balance personal growth with the responsibility of leading and empowering a community?
Balancing personal growth with the responsibility of leading and empowering a community is something I view as an ongoing journey rather than a destination. Life is truly a balancing act, and I’ve learned that the most effective way to lead others is to continue growing, healing, and evolving myself.
I often describe my personal journey as a canvas painted with many colors—each representing the peaks, valleys, victories, and challenges that have shaped me. Rather than hiding those experiences, I choose to share them. I believe leadership is most impactful when it is rooted in authenticity. When people see both your strength and your vulnerability, it creates space for them to embrace their own journey.
As I’ve navigated my alopecia journey and personal evolution, I’ve made it a priority to create platforms where others can feel seen, heard, and empowered. Through initiatives like our Alopecia Socials, we provide safe and intimate spaces where individuals can openly share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs. These gatherings remind people that they are not alone and that there is power in the community.
Likewise, the B3Elegance All-Bald Fashion Show was created to celebrate the beauty, confidence, and elegance of the bald community. It is more than a fashion show—it is a movement that challenges traditional beauty standards while showcasing resilience, individuality, and self-acceptance. By elevating others, I am continually inspired to grow myself.
For me, personal growth and community empowerment are not separate responsibilities; they work hand in hand. Every lesson I learn, every obstacle I overcome, and every new level of self-discovery becomes an opportunity to serve others more effectively. At the same time, the stories, strength, and courage I witness within the community fuels my own growth.
Ultimately, I strive to lead by example—showing that growth is not about perfection, but about being willing to evolve. By sharing our stories, embracing our uniqueness, and creating spaces where others can thrive, we cultivate a culture of hope, empowerment, and unity. That is the legacy I hope to continue building—one where personal transformation becomes a catalyst for collective impact.
What advice would you give to women who are currently facing a difficult season and struggling to see the possibilities on the other side of their challenges?
My advice to any woman facing a difficult season is simple: give yourself permission to keep moving forward, even when you can’t yet see what’s on the other side. Remember that your current circumstances do not determine your future. What feels like a setback today may actually be preparing you for something greater tomorrow.
Every successful entrepreneur, leader, and changemaker faces uncertainty. There are moments when the path forward is unclear, and the challenges seem overwhelming. I’ve experienced those moments myself. During those seasons, faith became my foundation. Through faith, I developed the courage to take risks, embrace challenges, and trust that every setback was not a stopping point, but a setup for greater opportunities and personal transformation.
When you’re in the middle of a difficult season, it’s easy to focus on what you’ve lost or what isn’t working. Instead, I encourage you to shift your perspective from “Why is this happening to me?” to “What is this preparing me for?” Growth often happens in the moments that test us the most.
Give yourself grace, lean on your support system, and trust the process. Even when you cannot see the full picture, keep taking the next step forward. The challenges you face today are developing the strength, wisdom, and resilience you’ll need for the opportunities ahead.
Most importantly, never underestimate the power of faith. Faith allows you to see possibilities beyond your current reality. It reminds you that your story is still being written and that your greatest breakthrough may be on the other side of the very challenge you’re facing today.
Stay encouraged, stay resilient, and keep believing. Your difficult season is not the end of your story—it’s often the beginning of your transformation.
