Blxckie Links Up With Nigerian Star L.A.X On Melodic New Single “LONELY.” Blxckie has joined forces with Nigerian Afropop star L.A.X for “LONELY,” a melodic new collaboration that brings together two distinctive voices from South Africa and Nigeria.
The Durban-born rapper and singer took to Instagram and announced the release with a short message. “‘LONELY’ ft. @izzlax out now everywhere.” The song arrived on September 25, 2026, through Somnyama Music Entertainment in partnership with EMPIRE.
Running for approximately two minutes and 45 seconds, “LONELY” explores a softer and more melodic side of Blxckie’s artistry. Known for moving between hip-hop, trap, R&B and soulful melodies, the South African artist puts his vocals at the centre of the track.
L.A.X adds his Afropop touch to the collaboration, bringing the melodic style that has become a defining part of his sound. The Lagos-born artist, known for songs including “Caro” and “Sempe,” has built a career around blending Afrobeats with elements of R&B and pop. The track was produced by Clemzy.
The collaboration also adds another international chapter to Blxckie’s growing catalogue. The rapper has previously worked with several major names across the African music scene, including Nasty C, while his debut album B4Now earned gold certification.
For L.A.X, “LONELY” adds to a catalogue shaped by collaborations and genre-crossing releases. The former Starboy Entertainment signee has continued developing his Rasaki Music imprint while maintaining his presence within the Afropop space.
“LONELY” is now available across major streaming platforms, and the music video is set for release today.
