Dynamos claim third position on PSL log table after humbling Herentals FC

Dynamos FC on Sunday moved to third place on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) log table following a 1-0 win over Herentals FC at Rufaro Stadium in the capital.

The Glamour Boys recorded their first league win since July, having drawn three and lost one along the way.

Dembare’s win was decided by inform midfielder Frank Agyemang who scored in the 25th minute to give his side a lead which they defended throughout the game.

Sunday’s goal saw Agyemang moving to 12 league goals, four behind the leading goalscorer Washington Navaya who is now on 16 goals.

Although they managed to win, Dynamos finished Sunday’s match with 10 men after midfielder Godknows Dzakpasu was sent for an early shower following an incident in which he punched a Herentals player.

Speaking after the match, Dynamos coach Aristica Cioaba was a happy man as he saluted his boys for the win.

“I am happy for the boys; this was not an easy win at all. After fighting we got the desired result although we could have scored more,” he said.

Dynamos is now third on the log with 50 points, 11 behind log leaders Scottland FC.

Cioaba has since vowed that if he fails to finish in the top four, he will resign at the end of the season.
