Enterprise Nation, a leading hub for entrepreneurial support, announced a strategic enterprise partnership with NatWest on Monday 24 August 2026. The collaboration creates a more streamlined path to growth for early‑stage businesses and marks a shift in how UK firms receive support, as two major providers integrate their services into a comprehensive and accessible growth network.
The partnership arrives at a critical moment. Enterprise Nation’s latest Small Business Barometer shows funding appetite has fallen sharply, with only 40 per cent of small businesses now planning to seek external funding in the next twelve months, down from a peak of 63 per cent. Confidence in expansion has followed the same trajectory, dropping to 41 per cent from 50 per cent a year ago. The data also highlights a widening gender difference: 40 per cent of male business owners reported that nothing worked for them when they sought advice in the past year, up from 27 per cent in 2025, and rising to around half of male founders who already employ staff.
Enterprise Nation aims to grow its community from 170,000 to 240,000 members, and the partnership will deliver enhanced support to a broader range of businesses. It will include expanded access to the NatWest Accelerator community through its regional network of hubs, a market‑leading Local Leaders network and opportunities to connect with funding, support and expertise via the NatWest Accelerator app. The venture is expected to save entrepreneurs more than one million hours a year, unlocking an estimated £30 million in productivity gains at a time of rising costs and unpredictable global pressures. It also seeks to overcome structural barriers that lock some diverse micro firms out of traditional support delivery.
The partnership forms part of NatWest’s Growing Together plan, a five‑point strategy focused on backing powerful regions, championing mid‑market businesses, strengthening infrastructure and housing, boosting financial confidence among families and young people, and supporting the innovators shaping the future economy.
Aaron Asadi, chief executive officer of Enterprise Nation, said: “This partnership signifies a major step forward in nurturing the growth of UK enterprises. Our own research shows business confidence and funding appetite falling sharply, and a widening gap in how well support is working for different founders. By merging our expertise and resources we are reimagining how support is accessed and delivered, creating the ideal conditions for sustainable growth across a dynamic business landscape.”
Darren Pirie, head of NatWest Accelerator, said: “Entrepreneurs are vital to driving innovation, creating jobs and powering economic growth across the UK. Through our Growing Together plan and partnership with Enterprise Nation, we are connecting more founders to the networks, expertise and opportunities they need to start, scale and thrive. Together, we can help more businesses realise their ambitions and unlock growth in communities across the country.”
Elite Business and NatWest share a partnership through EB100, providing additional context for collaborative efforts across the sector. NatWest Accelerator is a dynamic entrepreneurial community committed to helping businesses grow, with a dedicated digital app and twelve physical hubs across the UK that provide co‑working spaces, regular networking events and tailored support sessions. Enterprise Nation remains the United Kingdom’s leading platform for entrepreneurial support, offering extensive resources to its 170,000‑strong community.
