EXALT Unveils Emotional Afropop Single “Delilah”

Nigerian artist EXALT has released his new single “Delilah,” officially out today, June 26, 2026, marking his first release of the year and setting the tone for an upcoming EP scheduled for later in 2026.

Inspired by the biblical story of Samson and Delilah, the track dives into themes of betrayal, heartbreak, and emotional attachment. “Delilah” explores the difficult reality of holding onto relationships that cause pain, reflecting the mindset of staying with someone despite emotional damage, often driven by the belief that better may not exist.

The song underwent an extensive three-month creative process, evolving significantly from its original concept. Initially written as a dancehall track, the record began with production by Nigerian producer Interracial Beat, who created the foundation instrumental.

As the project developed, producer Os Beats reimagined the direction of the song, introducing layered string arrangements and removing several elements from the original version. This transformation shifted “Delilah” into a more Afropop-driven sound. Os Beats also handled the record’s recording, mixing, and mastering, ultimately shaping the final version released to the public.

“Delilah” represents a key moment in EXALT’s artistic journey, opening a new chapter ahead of his forthcoming EP.

Born in Nigeria and currently based in the Netherlands, EXALT has been active in music since 2006 and officially launched his recording career in 2024 with his debut single “Kilimanjaro.” The track earned international media support, including airplay on MTV Base UK, MTV Base West Africa, Soundcity TV, and Hip TV, alongside radio rotations across multiple regions.

In 2025, he released his EP “New Wave,” which has surpassed 600,000 streams across digital platforms. One of its standout tracks, “Maggie,” later received a remix featuring Nigerian artist Skales, further expanding its reach with over 100,000 streams.

EXALT’s sound blends Afrobeats, Afropop, hip-hop, dancehall, and alternative influences, shaped by years of international travel across Africa and Europe. His music reflects a fusion of cultures and experiences, allowing him to connect with both local and global audiences.

Influenced by artists such as Drake, Jay-Z, and Travis Scott, EXALT continues to refine a cross-genre style that balances storytelling with modern sonic experimentation. With “Delilah,” he delivers a reflective and emotionally charged record that speaks to trust, loyalty, and the complexity of human relationships while building momentum toward his next project.
