From Hardwood to Hot 100 Energy: Danuel House Jr. Reinvents Himself as “4” and Takes Over the Charts

Danuel House Jr. isn’t easing into music—he’s stepping in with the same precision, discipline, and hunger that once defined his NBA career. Now known as “4,” the former Danuel House Jr. is making a bold transition from the court to the charts, and the numbers are speaking loud. His latest single “No Matter What” has officially landed on Billboard’s Urban charts at No. 40, backed by national radio spins, SiriusXM placement, and viral traction across Instagram. This isn’t a one-off moment—it’s a calculated rise. Following the success of “Perfect Timing,” which previously hit No. 34, 4 is proving his presence in music is both strategic and sustainable, blending Southern-rooted storytelling with a sharp, intentional rollout. Recently we had the pleasure of chopping it up with Daniel to find out just how this journey has been thus far.

Mo Clark: You’ve already proven yourself at an elite level in professional sports—what was the defining moment that made you fully commit to music as your next chapter, not just a side pursuit?

Danuel House Jr. : I wouldn’t say it was one moment—it was more like a shift in purpose. I already lived at an elite level in sports, but music was always there, just waiting on me to fully lock in. Once I saw the impact my records were having—not just locally but nationally—it stopped being a side lane. It became the next level of how I express who I am.

Mo Clark: “No Matter What” is resonating nationally and charting—what personal experiences or mindset did you tap into to create a record rooted in loyalty and emotional endurance?

Danuel House Jr. : That record came from a real place. It’s about loyalty, consistency, and standing solid through whatever life throw at you. I’ve been in situations where everything not perfect—pressure, expectations, ups and downs—but the people who stay solid with you through that, that’s what matters.

‘No Matter What’ is bigger than a relationship—it’s a mindset. It’s about staying ten toes through everything, and I think that’s why people across the country connecting with it right now.

Mo Clark: Coming from Houston’s Fourth Ward, your sound carries a distinct Southern authenticity. How has your upbringing directly influenced your storytelling, delivery, and overall approach to the industry?

Danuel House Jr.: Fourth Ward raised me—it gave me perspective, it gave me edge, and it gave me authenticity. Everything I do got that Southern weight to it—the way I talk, the way I deliver, the stories I tell. It’s not forced, it’s lived. Houston culture is about staying down, moving smart, and building something real. That’s why my music don’t feel temporary—it’s rooted in something deeper.

Mo Clark: You’ve transitioned from the structure of the NBA to the creative freedom of music—how do discipline and strategy still show up in your process as an artist under 4DHouse Entertainment?

Danuel House Jr.: Sports taught me structure, patience, and execution under pressure. In music, I move the same way—everything strategic. From how I record, to how I release, to how we market under 4DHouse Entertainment—it’s all calculated. I’m not just making songs, I’m building a system. That’s why the growth is consistent and not just a moment.

Mo Clark: With Billboard recognition, SiriusXM rotation, and growing traction, how are you intentionally building longevity in a space where many artists chase quick visibility instead of lasting impact?

Danuel House Jr.: A lot of artists chase attention—I’m focused on foundation. Everything we doing is intentional—from Billboard placements, SiriusXM rotation, to how the records are connecting in different markets. I’m building something that lasts. Not just one hit, but a catalog, a brand, and a presence that grows over time. Longevity come from consistency, quality, and staying authentic—and that’s what we locked in on at 4DHouse

What makes 4’s evolution compelling isn’t just the career pivot—it’s the mindset behind it. The same focus that carried him through the NBA now fuels his artistry, turning every release into a statement of longevity rather than hype. Rooted in Houston’s culture and backed by his own imprint, 4DHouse Entertainment, he’s not chasing attention—he’s building legacy. As “No Matter What” continues to climb and connect, one thing is clear: this isn’t a side hustle, it’s a second act. And if his current trajectory is any indication, 4 isn’t just entering the music industry—he’s positioning himself to stay.
