Gambia’s Darboe Faces Three-Week Layoff After Injury Setback

Gambian midfielder Ebrima Darboe is expected to spend about three weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a muscular injury during SSC Bari’s 2-1 defeat to Salernitana in Italy’s Serie C Group C.

Darboe was substituted in the 58th minute of the match after experiencing muscular discomfort. Lucas Grgić came on to replace the Gambian international.

According to reports surrounding a medical update issued by the club on 8–9 October, Darboe is expected to be unavailable for approximately three weeks while undergoing recovery.

The injury could rule him out of Bari’s upcoming fixtures against Giugliano, Crotone and Casertana, depriving the team of his services during a crucial period of the campaign.

If his recovery progresses as expected, the midfielder could return to action in late October for the match against Scafatese. However, his availability will depend on his rehabilitation and subsequent medical assessments.

The latest setback is another interruption to Darboe’s efforts to maintain consistency and contribute to Bari’s campaign. The midfielder will now focus on recovery as he seeks to return to competitive action.
