Ghanaian alternative R&B singer and songwriter Tower has been nominated for the AFRIMMA Rising Star Award at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA). This places her among eight artists shortlisted from across Africa and the diaspora for this year’s category.
The nomination was announced ahead of the AFRIMMA Musicfest, set to take place September 12, 2026, at Annette Strauss Square, AT&T Performing Arts Center, in Dallas, Texas.
Tower is nominated alongside Florito (Angola), Shoday (Nigeria), Rebo Tchulo (DR Congo), 2wentysixx (Kenya), Ameka Zrai (Côte d’Ivoire), No 11 (Nigeria), and Ciza (South Africa), a lineup that spans West, East, Central, and Southern Africa and reflects how widely AFRIMMA is casting its net for new talent this cycle.
For Tower, the nod arrives a few months into her recording career. The Ghanaian talent debuted in February 2026 with her single “Green”, an introspective offering that set the tone for her sound. Then followed through with “Wildflower,” a more emotionally direct record that further defined her as an artist unafraid to explore vulnerability in her writing. Together, the two singles have given listeners a clear sense of an artist working in the alternative R&B space with a distinct, unhurried voice.
The singer is signed to KhuJenga Management., the Ghanaian talent management outfit backing her early run. A nomination of this scale, coming this early, marks a notable moment for both Tower and her team, and adds Ghana to the map of countries represented in this year’s Rising Star category alongside Nigeria’s double nomination and entries from Angola, DR Congo, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, and South Africa.
Public voting for the AFRIMMA Rising Star Award, along with other categories, is open ahead of the Musicfest weekend, with the winner set to be recognized as part of the festival’s program in Dallas.
