ICAP Tanzania, RALG explore ways to increase access to financial resources for healthcare services

MWANZA: ICAP Tanzania has met with the Ministry of Health and the President’s Office-Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) in Mwanza to discuss a system that will help the country increase access to financial and human resources for the implementation of various health interventions.

Speaking during a Co-Creation workshop agenda held today in Mwanza, ICAP Tanzania’s Technical Advisor-Prevention and  HIV Testing  Service and Prevention, Dr Raymond Bandio, said the organization has been collaborating with the government to implement various health interventions, so the system will help coordinate and find the necessary resources.

He said they have met with stakeholders from the Ministry of Health and RALG to develop a joint system that will enable the country to use existing resources, including health professionals, as well as prepare project documents that will facilitate  mobilization  of funds to implement various interventions in  the health sector.

 “We have met in Mwanza with our colleagues from the Ministry of Health and RALGM to develop a mutual support system that will enable the country to seek financial resources as well as human resources available in the country in the health sector,” said Dr Bandio.

He said the system is expected to be useful in increasing financial resources that will be used to improve and implement various health interventions in the country.

Dr Bandio said the impetus for the establishment of the system came from the challenge of  global funding landscape  finance , so there is a need to use various opportunities and projects available in the country to increase the Government’s capacity to implement health interventions.

He added that through the system, various projects and opportunities implemented in the country will be able to help in generating resources that will enable the sustainable implementation of health interventions.

Dr Bandio said the beneficiaries of the system are Tanzanians and the projects, if announced, will help improve the health of the people.
