iFani Eyes Festive Hit As “Msebenzi Wam” Streams Surge. South African hip hop veteran iFani is soaking up the love following the release of his new eight-track mixtape Msebenzi Wam, taking a moment to thank fans for their overwhelming support while also sharing a personal update on his health.

The Eastern Cape lyricist expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt social media post, staying true to the blend of English and isiXhosa that has become synonymous with his personality.
“Thank you for enjoyin my Mixtape. Enkosi for ukuthanda uMsebenzi Wam,” he wrote.
Released at the end of July 2026, Msebenzi Wam features eight tracks, including a two-part title song and collaborations with Csana, Snymaan, Vuyo Manyike and Vee Sholo. The project also includes songs such as “West Side,” “Corrections,” “Kwakhe Kwanje Phi Na,” “Ndivuselele,” “Bendingayaz” and “Into Zomhlaba.”
Alongside celebrating the mixtape, iFani gave fans an honest update about his wellbeing, revealing that he has been recovering from fatigue and nenyongo, a bile-related illness.
“Ndi down yi fatigue nenyongo. Slowly recovering
,” he shared.
The rapper also revealed that he plans to make a few lifestyle changes as he continues recovering, joking that he is ready to leave behind the VSOP, Red Bull, makeup and cologne in favour of getting back to feeling refreshed.
Despite the health setback, iFani’s spirits remain high thanks to the project’s strong streaming performance. “Adawise, iStreaming numbers ziyandicumisa
liyavuya iNigga lase West Side,” he wrote, celebrating the positive response from listeners.
He also gave fans insight into which songs are making the biggest impact. According to iFani, “Kwakhe Kwanje Phi Na,” featuring Csana and Snymaan, has emerged as the people’s favourite, earning love from both listeners on the streets and radio stations. While that track is gaining momentum, “Corrections” currently stands as his personal favourite.
The rapper also believes the two-part title track, “Msebenzi Wam (1st & 2nd Half),” is built for powerful sound systems, describing it as music made for the real ones.
Looking further ahead, iFani has already identified a potential festive season anthem. He believes “Into Zomhlaba,” featuring Vee Sholo, has the potential to become one of the project’s biggest songs as its streaming numbers continue climbing each day.
Msebenzi Wam marks another important chapter in iFani’s return to music after spending years away from the spotlight. Following the renewed popularity of his classic hit “Shake,” the project sees the Xhosa rap pioneer reaffirming his place in South African hip hop with a body of work that stays true to his lyrical roots while reminding fans why his voice remains one of the genre’s most distinctive.
