Jeremiyah Love goes No. 3 to the Arizona Cardinals

St. Louisan Jeremiyah Love did not have to wait long to hear his name called at the National Football League on Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

The former CBC star running back was selected by Arizona Cardinals with the No. 3 pick. Love was the first running back selected in the draft and the highest pick at the position since 2018 when Saquon Barkley was selected at No. 2 out of Penn State. Love also made history by becoming the highest draft pick from the St. Louis area.

The 6’2″ 212-pound Love enjoyed a tremendous collegiate career at Notre Dame. In his last year at Notre Dame, he rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also had 27 catches for 280 yards and three touchdowns. Love received the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s top running back. He was also a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.
