Lauren Sanderson & Fred Durst Ask You To “Come Say Sum”

Lauren Sanderson reached volcanic levels of savagery with her latest release “COME SAY SUM” (an IDGAF warning to anyone trying to start shit), and today a bucket list moment comes to life when the godfather of late 90s rap-rock Fred Durst jumps into the fray for the track’s brutal new remix. Lauren’s aptly titled new album ‘LAUREN’ will smash into the world May 29th via Pack Records.

The original was partially inspired by Limp Bizkit’s legendary Woodstock ‘99 performance (specifically “Break Stuff”) and what started as a friendly exchange on Instagram became a bulletproof collaboration that finds Lauren’s own ferocity matched in full force by the rebel-rousing nü-metal icon.

The music video for the remix also drops today and finds the duo running the world’s most dysfunctional diner.

“Did I know this song had magic in it? Yes. Did I think Fred Durst would discover it and bring my Lez Bizkit dreams to life? Probably not,” said Lauren.”

She added, “COME SAY SUM was already about talking your shit and owning your truth. Ever since the first conversation Fred & I had, I knew this friendship was created by the universe. Some people just have that magic, and when you put Fred & I together… We are what you call a serendipitous collision.”

Today’s release follows the recent news that Lauren will perform at ACL Fest this year as well as join Fred for a few live Limp Bizkit dates October 11 & 12 in Nashville at The truth.

A maximalist cocktail of nü-metal ambiance, bratty pop flippancy, and killer lyrical wordplay, ‘LAUREN’ is quite literally an album only she could have created.

“I knew exactly what I was doing on this album.. and I did it anyway,” said Lauren Sanderson. “This is that ‘blow your speakers out, makeout with that girl in the bathroom, drive too fast down the highway’ album. That’s LAUREN.”

Loud, intentional, and unbothered, the album will immediately click with those who hold dear the late 90s/early 00s musical landscape, when artists like Missy Elliot, KoRn, P!nk, Lil Wayne and Limp Bizkit were twisting together genres with IDGAF bravado, while also boasting the fearless modern finesse of modern day generation-blurrers like Charli xcx, Ashnikko and Addison Rae.

Sexy yet soft, smart yet unhinged, feminine and masculine, ‘LAUREN’ embraces its polar opposites to create a world where partying, chainsmoking, and stealing someone’s girlfriend go hand-in-hand with internet romance, gaslighting yourself into confidence, and those moments of sincere human connection amidst a chaotic night out.
