By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have formally arrested and charged 45-year-old Virgil Vasquez of Maskall Village for aggravated assault and kept firearm without a gun license.
According to police, the arrest follows a report made by a man who said that on May 31, 2026, he boarded a vehicle being driven by Vasquez. While inside the vehicle, the man reportedly saw a firearm and asked to be allowed to exit.
Police say Vasquez allegedly retrieved the firearm and pointed it at the man. The complainant managed to escape and later reported the incident.
Following the report, police apprehended Vasquez and seized a .40 caliber pistol.
