Mokoena has welcomed Mohau Nkota back to Pirates, but he has questioned the club’s decision to sign so many winger.

Orlando Pirates legend Lebohang Mokoena has welcomed Mohau Nkota back to the club but has questioned the decision to sign so many wingers during the current transfer window.
The Buccaneers have signed Kabelo Kgositsile, Bohlane Ngwato and Gamphani Lungu, with Nkota now becoming the fourth winger to arrive at the club.
Pirates already have several options in the position, including Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi and Daniel Msendami.
Despite questioning the number of wingers at the club, Mokoena believes Nkota can make an important contribution, particularly because of the experience he gained during his time in Saudi Arabia.
“I think he’s got a big role to play, especially with the experience he has gained over the last season or so. Also remember, he was a big part of that Bafana team, as much as he didn’t make the World Cup squad,” the former Pirates star told Soccerbeat.
Mokoena then added that Nkota could be returning to Pirates with one goal in mind: winning the league title.
“Maybe at the back of his mind, he’s thinking, ‘I left without winning the league. Time for me to collect a league medal because this side, it looks like oil prices have increased in Saudi,'” Mokoena joked.
The former winger also believes Nkota’s ability to play on the left could prove particularly valuable for Pirates.
“Looking at the position he is playing, and being a left-footer, I think Pirates are scarce in that department. They only have Moremi starting,” he added.
Nkota returns to Pirates
Mokoena questioned whether Nkota’s arrival could have an impact on the club’s other new signings, particularly the younger players competing for places on the wings.
Mokoena believes the increased competition could make it difficult for some of Pirates’ recent recruits to establish themselves.
“It will bring stiff competition to the wingers. My question is, what is going to happen with the young left players who just signed with the club?”
Nkota is yet to make an appearance since rejoining Pirates.
