Nandi-Ndaitwah to headline inaugural Namibia CSI Mukopano

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is expected to deliver a keynote address at the inaugural Namibia Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Mukopano in Windhoek on 3 September.

The inauguration will bring together corporates, government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), funders and development partners to strengthen collaboration on sustainable socio-economic development.

CSI was launched in July as a platform for organisations involved in social impact to connect and share knowledge, establish partnerships and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The term “Mukopano”, according to the Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC), means a gathering of minds and stakeholders in Silozi.

Speaking ahead of the event on behalf of Mukopano partners, MTC spokesperson Tim Ekandjo said the president’s participation highlights the importance of collective collaboration in advancing developmental agenda.

“There is significant work already being done across Namibia, but greater coordination allows us to share knowledge, combine strengths and extend the impact of our interventions to more communities,” he said.

The programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, networking opportunities and collaborative sessions focused on education, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, sustainability and innovation.

Organisations implementing social impact initiatives will have an opportunity to build strategic relationships and connect with stakeholders.

Ekandjo said the initiative aims to move away from fragmented interventions towards partnerships that can achieve greater and more sustainable impact.

“This is bigger than any one company or organisation. It is a national effort, and there is room for everyone who genuinely wants to contribute towards Namibia’s development,” he said.

He said the initiative aims to provide expertise and resources, strengthen impactful interventions and reach more beneficiaries across Namibia.
