Nemostars Volleyball Club completed the group stage on a high, making it four wins in five games.
Nemostars secured a well-deserved 3-0 victory against Cameroon’s Litto Team Volleyball Club in the CAVB Club Championship encounter at Petit Stade on Monday.
Nemostars came out of the blocks early, opening a six-point lead (12-06). However, as the period opened up, Litto found a way through Nemostars, closing down the gap (16-18).
The Ugandan side held on to the pressure, thus emerging triumphant from the period (25-21).
In the second quarter, Nemostars pulled away midway through the period, creating an eight-point lead (20-12). Geoffrey Onapa came off the bench to put the icing on the cake as Nemostars took the second set (25-16).
In the third set, Nemostars were playing catch-up, trailing by three points (7-4), forcing coach Godfrey Okumu to call a timeout. From that point, Nemostars improved several points of their game, thus taking the third straight set (25-21).
