Durban, South Africa (10 April 2026) – When it comes to exploring South Africa’s food scene, Nick Hamman has built a reputation for taking viewers along for the ride. This time, though, the journey came with some seriously good company.
In a video that’s already pulled in over 160,000 views, Nick is seen enjoying a relaxed lunch in Durban with Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.
The outing took place at Tyler’s in Umdloti, one of Siya’s go-to spots. From the moment the food started arriving, it was clear why. The menu leans into local favourites but with a bit of a twist, turning familiar comfort food into something a little more elevated.
The meal itself was a full on feast. From a standout Caesar salad to a spread of chicken wings, mac and cheese, and skinny chops, the table quickly turned into what Nick described as a proper “meat fest”. Siya didn’t hold back either, fully leaning into the experience and showing off a bit of foodie flair of his own.
To wrap things up, they tucked into a classic with a twist. The restaurant’s take on a braai broodjie, bringing the meal back to its proudly South African roots.
Judging by the reaction online, many South Africans wouldn’t mind pulling up a chair.
