A man has now been charged with several Criminal Code offences following a Surrey Police Service (SPS) investigation into a November 29, 2024 residential break-in where over $200,000 worth of items were allegedly stolen.
On November 30, 2024, SPS Frontline officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter at a residence in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood in which over $200,000 worth of luxury items had been stolen. Investigators from SPS’s Prolific Offender Unit, with the assistance of the Richmond RCMP, identified a potential suspect and were able to recover several of the items from the residence. On January 28, 2025, SPS investigators executed a search warrant in Richmond and recovered additional property believed by police to be stolen.
On July 9, 2025, the following charges were approved by the BC Prosecution Service against 30-year-old Nicky Yuk Bun Law:
- Break-and-enter (1 count)
- Theft over $5,000 (1 count)
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (2 counts)
- Trafficking in stolen property (1 count)
- Possession of property for the purpose of trafficking (1 count)
- Possession of break-in instruments (1 count)
Nicky Law is currently out of custody. His next court appearance was scheduled for July 16 in Surrey Provincial Court.
