Scottish Soul Singer Brooke Combe Releases New Single “Tears Won’t Lie” On Verge Records

Photos: Sam Crowston|Facebook Lauded Scottish recording artist Brooke Combe has had a dizzying few months carving out a lane of her own with her “vintage styled soul” (CLASH). After winning Rolling Stone UK’s PlayNext Award, independently releasing her debut album Dancing at the Edge of the World and opening for Benson Boone on his American Heart Tour in arenas across the US, Combe is back with a brand new, sunkissed single “Tears Won’t Lie” – her debut for the esteemed Fontana / Verge Records. “Tears Won’t Lie” is an openhearted offering that sees Combe yearning for earlier, better times with a loved one. The music video – directed by James Slater – catches Brooke and her friends escaping the dreary British weather for a night on the town.  Watch the “Tears Won’t Lie” music video HERE “‘Tears Won’t Lie’ is a song that explores the truth that surfaces after a relationship falls apart,” Combe says of the single. “It’s about someone who has spent years hiding their pain behind a smile, only to be confronted with the emotional reality they can’t suppress anymore. Sort of like the moment grief, self-awareness and reality meet, and you’re suddenly awake and won’t lose yourself to love again.” “Tears Won’t Lie” follows the Fall release of Combe’s single “How Can I Tell You? (To Love Me More).” The first new track is a Northern Soul stomper and garnered international attention for the Scottish singer, including performance bookings on the Kelly Clarkson Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Watch Brooke Combe perform “How Can I Tell You? (To Love Me More)” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Currently on her second a sold-out headline run across the UK and known for her enthralling live shows, Combe already has a 2026 packed with gigs. Earlier this year, Combe was announced as the opener for soul singer Jalen N’gonda’s “Doctrine Of Love” world tour. Before then, Combe will join Lenny Kravitz at his show at Gunnersbury Park in London on August 15. Stay tuned for more from Brooke Combe later this year.
